Shakespeare Under The Stars

Titus Andronicus

Shakespeare Dallas brings one of William Shakespeare’s darkest tragedies to the stage this fall with Titus Andronicus, the final Shakespeare in the Park production of the year at Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre in Dallas.

Directed by Dr. Danielle Georgiou, the production reimagines the tragedy as “Club Titus,” a glamorous but decaying nightclub where wealth, power and spectacle collide.

Beneath the glitter is Shakespeare’s brutal story of revenge, as Roman general Titus Andronicus returns from war with four prisoners who set in motion a bloody rivalry.

The outdoor setting offers a relaxed way to experience Shakespeare, with picnicking encouraged and beer and wine permitted. Audiences can bring dinner, settle in under the stars and enjoy a North Texas theater tradition that Shakespeare Dallas has continued for more than 50 years.

Titus Andronicus runs Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 16-Oct. 18, at Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre, 1500 Tenison Parkway in Dallas. Gates open at 7:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 8 p.m.

General admission is $20, with $15 tickets available for students and seniors.
